How to use Add Background Color to PDF
Choose your PDF, review the settings, and select Add Background Color. Check the result and use Download Result to save your new file. Your source file is unchanged.
Add a colored page background
Choose a color using the color picker and select the physical page range. The tool prepends a filled rectangle beneath the existing page content, preserving text and vector artwork. Pale colors often work well for worksheets, forms and handouts.
Understand white pages and scanned PDFs
An empty PDF page has no painted white background, so the added color is visible. A white rectangle or full-page scanned image is opaque and covers the new color. This tool intentionally leaves existing artwork untouched; it cannot remove white pixels or replace backgrounds inside photographs.
Review the result before printing
Check your downloaded PDF in the result preview. Backgrounds can increase ink usage. Make a test print and keep the source file for future edits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change a scanned white page to cream?
