How to use PDF to JSON Text Extractor
Choose your PDF, review the settings, and select Extract JSON. Check the result and use Download Result to save your new file. Your source file is unchanged.
Export page text in a structured format
The JSON contains the source page count and an array of selected pages, each with a physical page number and extracted text. This is useful when a script needs page boundaries without parsing a plain text file. Choose a page range to export only the relevant pages.
Include text coordinates
The detailed mode includes individual text items with their x and y origin, width, height and end-of-line indicator. Positions are reported in PDF user space before page rotation, whose origin is usually at the bottom left. Crop boxes and nonstandard user units can affect interpretation.
Know what the JSON represents
PDF text items do not necessarily match words, paragraphs or reading order. Complex layouts may need additional processing. This tool does not infer table cells, recognize handwriting or serialize the internal PDF object tree. An image-only PDF needs OCR before text can be extracted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it convert a table directly to JSON records?
